Our services

We want aboriginal people from all walks of life to have opportunities and security. Our programs are available for anyone in our community in need of support and compassion. If you do not see a program offered at this time please reach out and we will direct you to our partners to ensure you are taken care of in all situations.

  • Counselling

Healing is necessary for our community. If you need to express yourself with one of our counsellors or want to speak to a professional about addiction, family matters or personal struggles – we hear you. We will listen, advocate and guide you through a difficult stage and ensure you feel love and compassion through the process. Asking for help is not easy, and at Founding People Support Society we'll go through whatever your situation is, together.

  • Cultural Arts

Your identity, your beliefs and your history is a vital part of our heritage and we want to instill this in our society. The indigenous people have been suppressed for far too long and the Founding People Support Society wants you to be seen. Stories, music, dance and traditional medicine will be celebrated and appreciated for all Canadians to embrace and learn from. We cannot forget who we are and our desire for future generations to continue the pride and resilience our heritage has stood for since time immemorial.

  • Education

Knowledge is power and our people deserve to learn. Traditional schools and structures are not always the best way to become educated and the Founding Peoples Support Society understands that. GED, post-secondary or general upgrades and certificates can be acquired through multiple channels and financial aid is available. If you are interested in learning and need to know what’s available to you or if you just need a tutor to pass your current class, we want to help. We are in your corner and will see you gaining higher educations with our skilled team.

  • Employment Assistance

Aboriginal people should be recognized for their cultural wisdom, talents and mental capacity in the urban workforce. Our people have incredible abilities and should be represented in more organizations throughout Canada. We are building a more inclusive and diverse workforce for our next generation and we need to start working now. If you are in need of work experience, want to change your career, or have an industry you want to get into, our employment specialists are waiting to help you. We work with hundreds of employers and can help you with a resume, cover letter, interview training and so much more to help build your future. Youth, adults and elders are all welcome to participate in work programs that we run throughout the year.

  • Food Assistance

Food is an essential part of life – our minds and bodies need nutrition to be able to function and take care of ourselves. If you require emergency food supplies or essentials please apply today. Our team is dedicated to your needs so if you are hungry, malnourished or just need temporary help, come in and pick up a food basket for yourself, your family or friends, or anyone you care about, no questions asked.
